Linear drainage
GH Form's grates for linear drainage are designed to combine functionality with aesthetic. With us you will find linear drainage grates that stand out and play a central role in the visual expression of urban spaces. We believe that water drainage should be visible and exciting. That's why, in collaboration with leading architects, we have designed a range of solutions within linear drainage that elevate the visual character of the urban space.
Linear drainage for environmentally certified buildings
GH Form's grates for linear drainage are made of 100% recycled iron at a Danish foundry. An analysis from the European Regional Development Fund shows that the climate footprint of our grates is 75% lower compared to other linear drainage grates.
All our cast iron grates for linear drainage are also EPD-documented - an environmental product declaration developed in accordance with recognised European and international standards. This makes them ideal for environmentally certified buildings where documentation of climate impact is required.
Create safety and atmosphere with light
Our linear drainage systems do more than simply divert water. With integrated lighting, they can also help create safety and atmosphere in your urban space. All linear drainage models can be supplied with an embedded LED light strip that illuminates the urban space and makes navigation easier.
The Dock-Line linear drainage can also be supplied with grazing lights, creating small points of light in the urban space during the dark hours.
Unique linear drainage for your project
Make drainage a natural part of the urban identity. The linear drainage supports the overall concept of your project and create a cohesive, functional and aesthetic urban space with room for unique solutions.
Linear drainage in traditional crochet pattern
The Swedish town of Vadstena has a long tradition of crochet, featuring many different patterns. The custom-made Vadstena Linear Drainage is designed in the crochet pattern Blåsippan and is therefore part of the town's history.
Linear drainage in Art Nouveau style
The buildings of Sønderborg are known for their Art Nouveau style with high ceilings and plant foliage winding across masonry and door frames. The organic shapes from the buildings' ornamentation are reflected in the Jugend linear drainage, custom-designed for the new city centre of Sønderborg.
Custom-made linear drainage for high-end project
For a high-end project, we have custom-made cast iron grates for linear drainage featuring a floral motif.
Life and play with water in urban spaces
Water is not always something that simply needs to be diverted away from urban spaces - it can also be a creative element that brings life and play into the city.
The Water Curtain at Ottilia Jacobsen Square
At Ottilia Jacobsen Square in Carlsberg Byen, the custom-made water curtain plays a central role. The Dock-Line linear drainage completes the flow of the water curtain.
Water play in Munkebjerg Park
Water is an integrated part of the expression in Munkebjerg Park in Odense. Here, the Linear drainage grate is combined with small fountains that bring a playful element into the urban space.
Water purification in the Courtyard of the Future
In the Courtyard of the Future, rainwater is not led directly into the sewer - it is purified and used in visible rainwater solutions that create living garden spaces.
Frequently asked questions
Is the linear drainage also available in radius?
The grates can be customised to meet the specific radius requirements for a given project. We have produced large circular configurations of linear drainage for fountains, water play areas, as well as around circular buildings.
Is your linear drainage made in Denmark?
Are the drainage grates EPD-documented?
All our cast iron drainage grates have product-specific EPD documentation. EPD stands for Environmental Product Declaration, and this environmental product declaration documents the environmental properties of the cast iron. The EPDs are developed in accordance with recognised European and international standards.
Can we design a linear drainage ourselves?
We offer custom design for project-specific linear drains. Add a unique touch to projects that deserve something extra. Let the drainage tell the history of the city.
Can lighting be added to the linear drainage?
All grates can be combined with LED lighting. In this way, an additional element is added to the urban space. Lighting in urban environment creates safety and functionality. Light can be integrated directly into the channel itself or as a grazing light, which is an independent fixture integrated into the grate.
In which materials are your drainage grates supplied?
All our drainage grates are produced in untreated cast iron.
The Water Cell grate is also available in bronze, while the Dock-Line grate also comes in stainless steel.
Which frame should I choose for the drainage channel?
Plastic frames / used as standard for tiles and paving stones that are not exposed to heavy traffic.
Stainless steel frames / used when installing in asphalt. The frames are made of stainless steel and have an additional edge that rises around the grate, allowing the asphalt to be laid right up to the grate. This ensures that the grate remains free and can be removed without damaging the asphalt surface. It is possible to choose a plastic frame on one side of the channel and a steel edge on the other, depending on whether asphalt needs to be laid up to the grate on one or both sides.
Cast iron frame / used for extra reinforcement of the top of the channel, for example in areas with particularly heavy traffic. The frame has transverse reinforcements that provide the channel with extra structural strenght. The cast iron frame can also be used up against asphalt surfaces.
How do I determine the load class?
We always provide guidance on which channel is best suited in relation to the load class.
Load class A/B - 10 tons
Areas used by pedestrians, cyclists and cars, such as residential and park areas, parking areas, etc.
Load class C - 5 tons
Closed industrial areas with limited forklift and truck traffic, motorway entry and exit areas, and along curbs.
Load class E/F - 40 tons
Areas with particularly high traffic loads. Grates and channels can be supplied with project-specific construction and requirement specifications.
