Open Linear Drainage
Open linear drainage is an architectural approach to water management. With open linear drainage, water drainage can become an integrated part of urban architecture, creating sensory experiences for the city users.
With open linear drainage, nature is brought into the urban space, where it can be integrated into everything from squares, parks and streets to efficient and sustainable SuDS solutions.
Play with water in urban space
Add a sensory element to urban space with open linear drainage.
The water tells the story of the square
Water is the primary narrative at Ottilia Jacobsen Square in Carlsberg Byen. This is where the original spring emerged, which was the reason the Carlsberg Brewery was founded here. From Ottilia Jacobsen Square, the water flows through our custom-made open drainage channel along Paulas Passage towards Bryggernes Plads.
Sustainability on multiple levels
GH Form offers both standard and custom solutions for open linear drainage. Our open drainage channels are made of cast iron, which blends in well with modern urban spaces that typically feature several cast iron elements in urban furniture.
Our drainage channels for open line drainage are made from 100 % recycled iron at our foundry near Køge. Our cast iron products stay beautiful for generations and are therefore a sustainable investment.
All drainage channels are EPD-documented in accordance with international environmental standards. This means that their climate impact is documented, making them an obvious choice for environmentally certified construction.
Water art and water play in Roskilde
The gently babbling water in our custom-made drainage channel guides visitors from the city's busy main street to Roskilde Museum. The flat steps in the drainage channel create a sense of dynamism and add an acoustic element to the drainage solution in Skt. Ols Gade.
