The Cast Iron Tree Grate is a circular grate consisting of four grate elements mounted on two half steel frames. As the tree grows, the three inner rings can easily be removed to provide more space.
The grate is available in three sizes:
> Ø860 mm (0.6 m²)
> Ø1600 mm (2.0 m²)
> Ø2500 mm (5.0 m²)
The frames are available in two variants, one of which is detachable. This solution makes it possible to plant the tree at a later stageas as the outer part of the frame can remain in the paving while the support structure of the grate is dismantled. This makes it easy to replace or plant a tree without affecting the surrounding paving.
For added functionality, the tree grate can be supplied with an irrigation housing, spotlights and a tree guard.
All our cast iron tree grates are EPD documented - an environmental product declaration developed in accordance with recognised European and international standards as well as the requirements of EN 15804.

The tree guards can be retrofitted to our tree grates, and they can also be removed when needed.

Knud Holscher (b. 1930) is a Danish architect and designer known for his functional, minimalist style. He founded Holscher Design in 1995, a recognised Scandinavian agency with over 50 years of experience in product and urban design.
