Queen Louise Bridge, inaugurated in 1857, is one of Copenhagen's most distinctive and historic bridges. The bridge was built to connect Nørrebro with the city centre and has been an important transport hub over the years, as well as a meeting point for Copenhageners and tourists alike. The bridge's elegant architecture and historical significance make it a central element of the Copenhagen cityscape.
In connection with the extensive renovation of Dronning Louise Bridge, one of the major tasks was to recreate the iconic swan necks, which are a central part of the railing along the bridge. The swan necks are not only an aesthetic element, but also an important part of the bridge's historical expression. We have worked to ensure that they retain their classic appearance.
In addition, we have renovated the classic Copenhagen benches that line the bridge on both sides. The benches are a familiar and beloved element for the many people who enjoy the view of the lake and the city.
This renovation of Dronning Louise Bridge is an important step in preserving one of Copenhagen's most iconic bridges, while maintaining its role as a focal point for both everyday commuters and visitors to the city.
