Traditional stair railing for basement staircases
Classic Griff A is a stair railing designed to shield basement entrances from street level. It has been a regular part of the cityscape in Copenhagen and Frederiksberg since 1920 and is often seen at entrances to smaller shops and bicycle cellars with access to courtyards, roads and pavements.
As standard, the handrail is thicker at the ends for embedding in the masonry and the base has an embedding block for increased stability. The handrail can be lengthened according to the needs of the project, but a shorter handrail ensures a stronger construction. GH Form has successfully assembled handrails up to 2.4 metres, which requires additional supports with a maximum spacing of 600-700 mm to maintain strength.
