In collaboration with designers such as Knud Holscher Design, Henrik Jørgensen, SLA Architects, Arkitema and Kristine Jensens Tegnestue, GH Form has developed a range of tree grates that provide optimal growth conditions for trees and enhance their visual appeal. The different designs allow you to choose a tree grate that can be easily integrated into the architecture of the urban space.
The tree grates are designed to last for the entire lifetime of the tree. They are manufactured in untreated cast iron, which quickly develops the patina characteristic of many elements in urban spaces.

GH Form's tree grates are designed as part of series of urban furniture that together create visual coherence in the urban environment. Choose multiple elements from the same series - such as tree grates, drainage solutions and bollards - for a consistent architectural expression, or handpick your favourites from our different ranges of urban furniture to create a unique identity for your urban space.
All wooden grates are made of untreated cast iron and therefore blend well with other fixtures in the urban space.
Functional design
All tree grates consist of detachable frames that make the installation easy. In addition, it is possible to replace the planting at a later stage without having to work with the surrounding paving.
To protect the tree's roots, the underlying steel frame of the tree grates is designed with angled profiles that face away from the roots.
On our Cast Iron Tree Grate, Drops Tree Grate and Campus Tree Grate, the inner rings can be cut away as the tree trunk grows wider.

Frequently asked questions
Are the frames for tree grates detachable?
Yes, we offer detachable frames for our tree grates. This allows tree to be planted at a later stage. The outer part of the frame can remain in the paving while the support structure for the grate is dismantled. This makes it possible to replace a tree or plant one at a later time without removing the surrounding paving.
Is it possible to integrate an irrigation housing into your tree grates?
Yes, the irrigation housing can be integrated into most of our tree grates. The irrigation housing fits a drainage hose with a maximum diameter of Ø76 mm for tree irrigation. The lid does not close completely, which allows oxygen to reach the tree roots.
Is it possible to add lighting to the trees?
With integrated uplights in the tree grate, it is easy to create an atmospehric ambiance during the darker hours. The lighting gives the trees a prominent role in the urban space around the clock and provides a sense of safety for its users.
Why choose a tree guard for tree grates?
Our tree guard protects the tree from the challenges of the urban environment - collisions, parked bicycles, and much more. This gives the tree better conditions to grow strong enough to withstand the sometimes harsh growing environment in urban spaces. The guards can be mounted and removed as needed.
