The project Skt. Ols Plads is a breathing space with the sound of trickling water and a link between Roskilde Museum and the city's main street, Algade. Here, water art and water play meet in the open drainage line that starts at the sculpture Stub, from which a fountain springs.
The water runs in a canal towards Skt. Ols Plads. The flat steps of the canal create a rippling and calm sound that emphasises the quiet character of the square in contrast to the busy Algade. The water trough close to Algade guides passers-by towards the square and the museum.
Bjørn Nørgaard's sculpture Ragnarok, where the water runs to, stands on Skt. Ols Plads in front of Roskilde Museum. GH Form has customised the open line drainage with channels and outlets in cast iron. Everything is made entirely from 100% recycled iron.
The project is designed byMASU Planningand was built as part of Kulturstrøget in Roskilde.
