Cast iron roof windows

Viborg Katedralskole, an impressive neoclassical building designed by Hack Kampmann, was built between 1922 and 1926. In 2017, the building underwent an extensive renovation that included facade, balustrade and roof. Everything was carried out according to conservation regulations to preserve the historical integrity of the building.

In this unique renovation project, we supplied 12-pane roof windows and oval cast iron roof windows. The roof windows were chosen as they are both functional and aesthetically appropriate to the style of the building, while meeting the requirements for listed and preservation-worthy buildings. The windows are approved by the Danish Agency for Culture and Palaces, ensuring that they meet the necessary standards for the preservation of our cultural heritage.

Cast iron roof windows are an important part of Danish building culture and a symbol of both craftsmanship and history. They not only contribute to the building's appearance, but also ensure that it retains its original character and function for many years to come. This renovation project at Viborg Cathedral School is a fine example of how we can preserve and honour our historic buildings.

Kjaer & Richter has handled the ongoing refurbishment and restoration of Viborg Cathedral School with great respect for authenticity.
