City Bench

The City Bench’s unique expression is inspired by Nanna Ditzel’s philosophy: “The bench is conceived as a closed space within the public space and is meant to serve as a frame for those who sit on it.”

Developed in 1997, the bench combines a high backrest, armrests, and a relatively high seat height for optimal sitting comfort and accessibility. It is made of cast iron and wood, with the three-dimensional fan-shaped sides fully utilizing the properties of cast iron.

The City Bench is available as a two- or three-seater model and consists of two end pieces, four rails, and back and seat elements. The wooden slats are made of FSC® certified mahogany, either untreated or treated. Individual slats can be replaced without disassembling the bench. It can be placed freely or anchored with a special foundation mount.
