Dokk1 / Aarhus Harbour

Aarhus' harbour areas have undergone an impressive transformation. With Dokk 1, Aarhus now has a unique, covered urban space that connects city and harbour. Dokk1 houses the city's main library and is located at the mouth of the Aarhus River - a symbol of modern urban development where culture and harbour environment merge.

In the square around Dokk1 you will find our Orbit Line dewatering, designed specifically for the project by Architect Kristine Jensens Tegnestue. The harbour plazas are designed by the same studio, creating a holistic experience in design and functionality.

With Ramboll Denmark as client consultant and COWI responsible for construction management, Dokk1 is a strong example of collaboration between architects and engineers.
